Kecia Chin specializes in teaching people the Alexander Method-the most effective way to re-educate the body’s natural alignment – “what every ‘body’ needs to know”! She helps prevent and reverse degenerative posture and movement habits that causes chronic, painful conditions. Her formula for success is Breath Work + Movement + Strength + Optimal Balance + Endurance + Fun = Peak Performance!
Kecia’s Healthful YOGA practice stems from an athletic background from running cross country track/track & field, dance training in ballet, modern dance, and movement studies for classic theater & stage. She earned a scholarship to Carnegie Mellon University as a theater major, and studied in London. As part of the curriculum she was required to learn Form vs. Function – how to use the body at peak performance translated into the mundane basic movements of daily life (walking, sitting, standing, bending, twisting and turning). Her post graduate work includes the American Center for Alexander Technique and has been an instructor since 1999 with well over 16,000 hours of independent study and 20yrs professional teaching. She studied Hatha, Ashtanga and Hot Yoga for well over 8+ years and is a certified Yoga instructor.
